Sravasti Heritage sire Near Lucknow

Dudhwa National Park Near Lucknow

It is situated 60 kms from Lucknow. While the northern edge of the Park lies along the Indo-Nepal border, the River Suheli marks the southern boundary. Dudhwa National Park is as diverse as the wildlife population it harbors. In 1958 it is known as a wildlife sanctuary 1977 as a national park, 1988 as a tiger reserve. Dudhwa’s terai vegetation comprises of savannah grasslands interspersed with forests consisting of trees such as Jamun, Shisam, Silk Cotton tree, Khair etc. This park hosts the highly endangered Soft Ground Barasingha, the other deer species found here are Chital, Sambar, Barking deer and the hog deer. This National Park’s star attraction is the Bengal Tiger. The Indian Rhino was also introduced in here to save it from extinction Leopards, elephants, bears, muntiacs, gharial, crocodile, spotted and swamp deers can also be seen along with the lesser ones like the Fishing cat, Jungle cat and the Leopard cat.

Nawabganj Birds Sanctuary is one of the most visited sanctuaries by the Migratory birds. Nawabganj Bird sanctuary is situated in Unnao district at 45 km. from Lucknow and Kanpur on Lucknow-Kanpur National Highway-25. It is a colorful bird sanctuary. There is a motel run by the Tourist Department. The winter season is the heaven for tourists, as the place is filled with colorful birds of all sizes. In order to promote proper protection and conservation to the resident and migratory birds, Nawabganj Lake and its surrounding area was declared as Nawabganj Bird Sanctuary in the year 1984. Approximately 250 species of resident and migratory birds are found here. Nawabganj Bird sanctuary is spread in an area of 2246 sq. km. The nearest railway station is Kusumbi at a distance of 2 km from Nawabganj.
